The Shinto Dining Chair was designed as an ode to the traditional Japanese Torii Gate found at the entrances of Shinto shrines. The chair invites you to pause, find peace in the moment and come together with friends and family around the dining table.
The thick 1/4 inch leather used is reminiscent of the leather you find in vintage pieces, but can't seem to find anymore these days. Enjoy the piece as its untreated leather seat patinas with age with no chemical finish and molds to the wood frame over time.
The thick leather, along with the handcrafted frame and a curved backrest, offer exceptional comfort and an eye-catching sense of style.

This allows the natural oils from your body to create a unique patina over time, sealing the leather in its own beautiful way. The look and feel of this slow forming patina cannot be replicated with synthetic finishes.
